Powers at this stage can affect someone whom you could still make out their facial features, if only just barely. Areas of effect would be sizable at this point, difficult to dodge without prior preparation. A strong range means that a power is very capable by virtue of how far reaching it is. Defense against all physical damage, or all magic damage, or other extremely broad abstracts may fall under here.
